ITINERARY
Day 1 / Taipei - Hualien
Head down the picturesque east coast of Taiwan, stopping at beautiful beaches and exploring laid back Hualien. Go back in time at a 1943 former military site, now a cultural center offering historical exhibits & events.
Day 2 / Hualien and East Coast
Explore the East Coast's unique topography and local people. Start at natural sea caves used for religious worship, then meet indigenous tribe members who will teach you how to roast organic coffee beans and make salt. Indulge in a Michelin-quality meal that uses all natural ingredients from Hualien.
Day 3 / Hualien to Taitung
Visit the exotic Sanxiantai bridge before enjoying an intimate musical performance by an indigenous tribe. Tour the Dulan Sugar Factory sampling local sweets, and then learn how to make indigenous millet wine. Don't forget to look for the monkeys at the Donghe bridge!
Day 4 / Taitung Luye to Taitung Chishang
Soak up the green, agricultural vistas in Taitung's East Rift Valley with a bird's eye view and relaxing drive. Then, try Taiwan's finest rice in Chishang and explore the beautiful rice fields by bicycle. Visit yet another natural wonder at the relaxing Dapochih Wetlands.
Day 5 / Taitung to Hualien
Enjoy the rare opportunity to stop at the Tropic of Cancer. Then, let the friendly Amis tribe guide you on a food tour, showing you their local market before teaching you how to cook indigenous cuisine.
Day 6 / Hualien to Taroko Gorge
Absorb the unique topography of the East Rift Valley during the drive to Taroko Gorge. Then, explore the world’s largest marble cliff and blue, turquoise waters at Taroko Gorge. Walk through Taroko Gorge and marvel at the turquoise blue waters that slice through marble cliffs.
Day 7 / Taroko Gorge to Yilan
Drive along the picturesque Qingshui Cliff, the largest coastal cliff in Taiwan and head back to Northern Taiwan, Yilan to Go back in time at a park that has preserved Taiwan's ancient folk culture with diverse crafts, acrobatics, theater, music, and dance. Day 8 / Yilan to Taipei
