Taiwan’s east coast is known for breathtaking scenery, tribal culture and unparalleled opportunities for dining, exploring and adventure. Our Eastern Beauty Five Day Luxury Tour will bring you to well-known scenic spots and hidden gems alike in luxury and style. Along the way you’ll experience awe-inspiring scenery (including Taroko Gorge and the Rift Valley), traveling through the heartland of Taiwan’s indigenous tribal cultures. You’ll have plenty of opportunities for leisure and outdoor activities including hiking, boating, bicycling and even hot-air ballooning. In between the bucolic splendor, we’ll also make time to explore Hualien and Taitung, two of the east coast’s largest cities, each boasting their own unique cultural caches. Though the route is similar to our standard Eastern Beauty Tour, our Luxury package offers five star accommodations, exquisitely prepared meals in some of eastern Taiwan’s best restaurants and opportunities for adventure not available on our standard tour.

  • Day 1:

    Taipei to Hualien

After meeting the group in Taipei, we’ll head down the magnificent east coast to Hualien county, where we’ll visit a beautiful pebble-strewn beach with famously clear blue waters before heading inland to Liyu lake, whose beauty (some say) rivals that of Taiwan’s more famous Sun Moon Lake. Swim, cycle and hike around the lake before heading into chilled-out Hualien City, where we’ll have lunch at a restaurant in town renowned for excellent Taiwanese cuisine. After lunch, we’ll spend some time at the poetry, art and nature filled Pine Garden Heritage site.

  • Day 2:

    Hualien to Taitung

On day two we’ll head south down the coast, making many stops along the way to check out the regions astonishingly varied coastal terrain. We’ll stop to visit the Baxian, or “eight deities” caves, known both for their geological features and religious iconography. For lunch, we’ll feast on fresh seafood on the coast before heading to Sanxiantai, whose long arched footbridge connects the rocky coast with a neighboring island. Later in the day we’ll visit the town of Dulan, known for its tribal artists, surfing scene and laid-back vibe, and have a quick sto

  • Day 3:

On the third day guests will have the option of cycling or being driven around the tea farms and traditional village nestled in the rift valley, one of the loveliest stretches of country in Taiwan. For lunch, an amazing buffet at an amazing semi-enclosed restaurant with views of the surrounding countryside. In the afternoon, we’ll explore Taitung’s Seashore and Forest Parks before heading back to the Luminous for dinner at either their buffet or a set meal at their traditional farm-to-table organic Japanese restaurant. After dinner, schedule a massage at the Luminous spa, soak i

  • Day 4:

    Taitung to Hualien

After waking up at the Luminous, you’ll be offered the option of seeing the entire Rift valley from the basket of a hot air balloon. Afterwards, a guided hike or bike ride around the bucolic East Rift valley before heading to lunch at a unique local eatery. After lunch, we’ll head north through the valley, stopping at the Tropic of Cancer marker before heading into Taroko Gorge. After dinner at the Taroko Silks Hotel, you’ll spend the rest of the evening taking advantage of the spa, rooftop pool & other entertainment facilities for which this world class hotel is justl

  • Day 5:

    Hualien to Taipei

On our tour’s final day we’ll start slowly, allowing guests an hour or so after breakfast to continue to enjoy the facilities at the Taroko Silk before heading out to tour the gorge itself. We’ll spend the rest of the morning visiting the temples and shrines of the gorge, and, weather permitting, taking a hike to the Baiyang waterfall. After lunch we’ll head back towards the coast through the gorge and continue north up Taiwan’s magnificent east coast, stopping for a leisurely afternoon coffee or tea and some homemade desert in the city of Yilan.

MyTaiwanTour will take care of you and craft a wonderfully memorable experience.

My husband and I booked a 5-day Eest-coast luxury tour with MyTaiwanTour for our honeymoon. We didn't know ANYONE in the country and looked forward to having a Chinese- and English-speaking tour guide who could show us around. We were NOT disappointed. From the start, our email communications with MyTaiwanTour were frequent and efficient. Anka handled most of our booking and set-up and was friendly and fast to respond. We even got to meet her in Taipei on the first day of our tour and she was just as nice in person. Everyone was timely and we never had to wait around wondering what was going to happen -- the staff at MyTaiwanTour is organized and on top of it. They will handle everything!Michael, our tour guide, was amazing. He was so gracious, efficient, funny, kind, and supportive of our trip and our first-time experience. Michael was the perfect amount of hands-on and stand-back-and-let-you-enjoy. He had a great knowledge of the history of Taiwan, the aboriginal cultures, and most importantly, FOOD. He loved to eat and loved to show us good things to eat. We immediately realized that we loved having him as a dining companion, in addition to his role as a tour guide. Michael was also extremely flexible, asking us about our interests and rearranging the schedule to better suit what we might want to see (for example, he took us to the CHIMEI museum in Tainan, which was not on our itinerary). The coolest thing was that by the end of the tour, we felt like we had made a new friend in Michael and look forward to keeping in touch with him and the company. All-in-all, I have to say that even though we were a bit wary booking such an expensive tour online without having any knowledge of the staff or the company's reputation, we had an excellent experience. In fact, the thing that convinced us to book was the high ratings they receive on TripAdvisor -- one reason I am now writing to share my experience. All of our expectations were exceeded and we can't recommend MyTaiwanTour highly enough. If you're considering booking a tour of Taiwan, look no further! They will take care of you and craft a wonderfully memorable experience.
