Taiwan's east is known for its breathtaking scenery. Our Eastern Beauty Tour brings you to well-known scenic spots and hidden gems alike. Along the way, we'll experience awe-inspiring nature (including Taroko Gorge and the Rift Valley), visit the villages of indigenous tribes that the locals called this land home for thousands of years, eat amazing meals, and have numerous opportunities for leisure and outdoor activities including hiking, boating and bicycling through the fascinating terrain for which the area is justly known. In between the bucolic splendor, we'll also make time to explore Hualien and Taitung, two of the East Coast's largest cities. Though equally laid back, both cities boast their own unique cultural caches.

ITINERARY
Day 1 / Taipei to Hualen
After meeting in Taipei, we’ll head down the magnificent east coast to Hualien, where we’ll visit a beautiful pebble-strewn beach with famously clear blue waters before heading inland to Liyu Lake, whose beauty (some say) rivals that of Taiwan’s more famous Sun Moon Lake. Cycle and hike around the lake before heading into chilled-out Hualien City, where we’ll spend some time at the art and nature-filled Pine Garden Heritage site. After checking into our hotel, we’ll spend the evening eating, watching street performances and just chilling out in general at the seaside Dongdamen night market.
Day 2 / Easten Coast Beauty: Hualien - Taitung
On day two we'll explore the diverse coastal terrain with stops at the Baxian caves, featuring geological wonders and religious iconography. Further down the coast, we’ll stop for a hike in Sanxiantai, whose long arched footbridge connects the rocky coast with a neighboring island. In the afternoon we’ll visit the town of Dulan, known for its tribal artists, surfing scene, and laid-back vibe. We’ll have another few stops along the beach before reaching the city of Taitun where we’ll spend the night.
Day 3 / Taitung Exploration Day
On day three we’ll visit a most unusual museum, one made not of brick and glass but of interconnected trees, part of a forest preserve maintained and protected by members of the local Bunun tribe. We’ll learn about the lives and cultures of SE Taiwan’s indigenous peoples, enjoy tribal cuisine, and even do a bit of tree climbing ourselves. Afterward, we’ll head back to Taitung city to chill out and explore.
Day 4 / Taitung to Hualien
Reaching the southern point of our tour, on day 4, we'll embark on the return journey north through the breathtaking Rift Valley. Surrounded by coastal mountains to the east and central mountains to the west, we'll traverse Taiwan's stunning landscapes. Activities for today include a bicycle ride through the rice paddies in Chishang, a visit to the Tropic of Cancer Marker, and fresh ice cream at the Guangfu Sugar Factory. After feasting on ice cream we'll head back to Hualien to enjoy local snacks at the Hualien Golden Triangle Shopping District before heading back to our hotel.
Day 5 / Hualien -Taipei
On the final day of the itinerary, we will head directly to the hot spring area in the geothermal valley in the mountains of Yilan, where we’ll try cooking food using the hot springs. Afterward, we will visit the Kavalan Whisky Distillery to explore Taiwan’s unique whisky-making style. Finally, we’ll return to Taipei, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way.

I highly suggest using MyTaiwanTour if you are coming to visit Taiwan!
My wife and I came to Taiwan for our honeymoon. She is Taiwanese and I am American, so for her the in and out of Taiwan was no big deal, but for me it was a bit of an adjustment. We joined the 5 day east coast tour after being in Taiwan for a week already and I was a bit nervous about riding in a car for another week to areas that are much less "big city" than Kaohsiung and Taipei. Within 5 minutes of getting in the car with our tour guide Gordon, I felt much better. He is super nice and very knowledgeable of everywhere we went. The car was very smooth (Camry hybrid) and Gordon put my mind (and car sick prone stomach) at ease. The different sites we visited were very scenic and he was always offering to take our picture everywhere possible. He was also very attentive to our preferences. I don't like seafood, so he always proactively suggested different restaurants and made sure the restaurant staff knew what I wanted. The hotels were great, we paid for the 5 star upgrade, which I HIGHLY suggest. Gordon was always on time and always made sure we got settled in our room before parting ways every day. When our tour ended and Gordon left, I was bummed because we lost our travel partner! I highly suggest using mytaiwantour if you are coming to visit Taiwan!I recommend this company to anyone who wants a tour that's about more than gift shops
When I booked my tour through My Taiwan Tour, I didn't know what to expect. Traveling down the East Coast of Taiwan with our tour guide Steve Lin, I learned so much about Taiwan - it's culture, it's history and its people. Steve was funny, genuine and sincere. The best tour guide I could ever ask for. From the first day to the last day of the tour, I felt as though I was traveling with one of my closest friend! He always made sure I was comfortable and that I had enough snacks for the road lol I will never forget this trip and I have so many great pictures and memories. Thanks My Taiwan Tour for having such a knowledgeable and friendly staff. I recommend this company to anyone who wants a tour that's about more than gift shops. Book through them, you won't regret it. Thanks Steve for being so awesome and teaching me so much about this country...your love and passion for travel is contagious! I can't wait to come back and tour the rest of it with you :)We had the trip of a lifetime

We joined the Taiwantour for the 3 days Eastcoast tour. The team is very professional, from the contact and inquiries in the beginning, the tour itself and afterwards, for example: - their answers are always quick, precise and friendly; even on the typhoon holidays you could talk to them on the phone - they know so much about everything, Iris-pedia can answer all your questions. I am from Taiwan myself but I also learned a lot! - they took photos of you and make it a CD post to you - there ar- 1

I recommend MyTaiwanTour without hesitation.
While in Taiwan, my daughter and I wanted to visit some places on the East coast (Hualian, Taroko National Park, Taitung, and more) that weren't that easy to navigate via public transportation. MyTaiwanTour arranged a great muilti-day itinerary. Our guide, Tai, spoke excellent English, was great at safely navigating the winding roads, and was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area. He asked about our interests, and led us to attractions that weren't in my guidebooks, the best scenic vistas, and the interesting local restaurants. I recommend MyTaiwanTour without hesitation.
