This tour takes us down Taiwan's magnificent east coast to Taroko National Park, with a relaxed snack stop in Xincheng along the way. After checking in to our hotel in Hualien city, we head out for an evening riverside adventure: catch fresh river shrimp yourself, then feast on a BBQ dinner under the stars. The next day, we start at the Pacific shoreline of Qixingtan Beach before heading into the gorge, where we'll walk the Tianxiang trail, visit Xiangde Temple, and take in the marble canyon scenery. We'll leave the park in the afternoon and stop at the Qingshui Cliffs as we drive back up the coast to Taipei. Taroko Gorge has drawn travelers from near and far for decades. After our visit, you'll know why.
