Cooking class in Taiwan
This is the first time I do a cooking class and I found it lots of fun and a great way to understand the local food. With so many different ingredients and dishes from where we are from ( I'm Spanish living in Ireland) it's difficult to choose or find your way in the local Taiwanese markets and restaurants. The class included a visit to a local market and I learn about how different ingredients are used in Taiwan. I will definitely cook back home a couple of the dishes that we learned on the dayTaiwanese foods are awesome!
Spent a lovely afternoon learning how to make some authentic Taiwanese food with Peggy. It was really fun to go ingredient shopping in the market. We made two starters that I'd never had before - pickled cucumbers and a great winter melon salad. They were pretty easy to make. Next were the dumplings which were considerably more difficult. It was fun to cut the veggies, but it took us quite a long time. Our initial efforts with the dumpling skins were pretty lame but Peggy helped us with our techCould not have been nice
We went to Jodie's with our two kids, ages 8 and 11. Jodie could not have been nicer! It was truly the highlight of our trip. The kids really enjoyed the complete hands-on experience--mixing the dough until it "smelled right" (seriously, once you know, you know!), chopping the vegetables, mixing it all together, and of course, stuffing the dumplings. Our son, who is viciously anti-green anything happily devoured pumpkin and coriander and mushroom dumplings without so much as a whimper. The hikeThank you for a nice day
Jodie and I spent a rainy afternoon together. I had a great time and we made some very tasty dumplings. We missed out on the walk because of the rain. I really would have liked that . She is in a great location.. I would definitely take a cab!!- 1

Highly recommend
My husband and I visited Taiwan on our honeymoon and found this class on TripAdvisor, it was a wonderful experience! We learned how to make dumplings, a delicious cucumber dish, a melon dish, hot and sour soup, and a Taiwanese dessert. Peggy and Dicky were great hosts who welcomed us into their home and even gave us a map and directions to a couple of restaurants near our hotel for our last day. I would recommend this class to anyone visiting Taipei!
