After learning a bit about Taiwan's tea history, we'll attend the first of two tea ceremonies, sampling various types of locally grown organic teas. Afterwards, we'll head further into the mountains to explore other tea farms, visiting the beautiful Thousand Island Lake before heading to a second traditional tea house for the afternoon ceremony. Our Tea Culture Tour is the ideal opportunity to unwind and familiarize yourself with Taiwan tea and tea culture. Please note: The Maokong Gondola closes in inclement weather. A wonderful day with MTT

We had a wonderful day, I wouldn't change a thing- both tea master/teachers were great. Summer was FANTASTIC. She also offered the suggestion for what we could see in Taipei as we had half a day left. She was knowledgeable and caring especially with my young teenagers. And the best part she was so likable and a joy to be around. She is definitely an asset to your tour group and makes you want to come back to Taiwan. Everything was so easy to set up from online, organized and prompt. Loved every minute of this tour. Thank you!!!

User-friendly tour company

This is a really user-friendly tour company, who were simple to book with and replied quickly to my emails. Bill and Kai picked me up from my accommodation. They were really funny, friendly tour guides. I liked how it was quite intimate (just myself and another tourist). The itinerary includes a nice varied selection of things to do. There was a great, relaxed and happy atmosphere. Thank you!

This was my best day in Taiwan

This was my best day in Taiwan. My daughter and I traveled with one other woman and our driver/tour guide, David. The Maokong Gondola was awesome. Then we learned a lot about tea and tasted a lot of tea. We had lunch at a restaurant that featured tea oil in some of the dishes, and it had a wonderful view of the mountains and the gondola. David stopped the car for us to take pictures whenever we asked. It was a relaxing day outside of the hustle and bustle of Taipei.

Thank you My Taiwan Tour

This was an excellent tour. Claire our guide was outstanding. She took the time to get to know everyone on her tour and made some adjustments to the tour itinerary based on the group's travel experience so that the tour was more personalized. We stopped at a tea house that was less crowded by other tours and we were able to learn more about how tea is made and prepared and we were able to enjoy many samples of various teas. Thank you My Taiwan Tour and to Claire for making this a very enjoyable experience.

Great small tour

Great small tour. Driver and tour guide were very good at their job. They went above and beyond to achieve our expectations and have a good visit in Taiwan. Got to see several sites and learned so much, the tea plantations were definitely a highlight for me. So beautiful! Highly recommend this tour.

Gordon is a great guide

Man alive, what a tour. I went because i wanted to see the views of the tea fields from the mountains, but I learned about the wild world of tea, saw a nice temple, went to an interesting shopping area, had some nice noodles, had a gondola adventure, and more. The tour turned out to be a lot more fun and interesting than just tea, we had a great time, Gordon is a great guide, the best.

City trip to Taipei

Our whole day City trip to Taipei was fun and memorable..first, we were driven in a comfortable coach that was clean and well decorated. There were five us of who were in the tour. Our Tour guide Jully Yin and Coach driver Mr. Yu welcomed us so warmly. We have a very informative tour guide and one that speaks english excellently!! We learned a lot of things about Taiwan simply because Jully is well versed with all the information. She only did not give us the history of the places that we went to..she also took most of our photos. She is a good photograher too. She is such a delight to be with. Thank you Jully for making our trip a most enjoyable one. Thank you also Mr. Yu for driving us safely and always coming on time!

Tea culture tour in a day

We booked privately as a group of four from the cruise ship port of Keelung. Helena was our guide. She was the first guide there as we know since she was the only one was saw from our balcony before anyone was allowed to disembark. She is a very sweet and knowledgeable lady. We felt comfortable with her. We paid an upcharge to do this tour all the way from the port and we were glad we did. And no, Taiwan isn't an inexpensive country and neither is this tour. But it was worth it to us to be able to spend the time where we wanted and move on when ready. We all enjoyed the tea culture promotional center. The museum was interesting and the couple who own the center sat down and enjoyed tea with us. This was a highlight of our day. It was a relaxed atmosphere where we learned a lot about tea. There is nothing stuffy about enjoying tea in China and Taiwan. It's friendly and sociable. There were so many unique tea pots and tiny cups. We just had to buy one here. It's one of the nicest things we bought during out whole trip. There are many places to buy tea but we felt confident in the quality of the tea here so bought some to go with our pot. The gondola trip was nice and scenic. We could see the Taipei 101 building from the air. We went to a pedestrian street in an old part of the town that was very interesting with so many different kinds of shops. We also ate lunch here and had some local food including one of the chickens you'll see hanging around that look like rubber chickens. No "stinky tofu" for us although I would have liked to try it in hindsight. Since it was only our group of 4 and my husband wanted to find a Taiwan flag, we had time and were driven into Taipei right beside the Taiwan 101 building which wasn't on our list of sights for this tour. It was pouring rain by now but we enjoyed seeing the building up close through the rain. We saw tea plantations, beautiful scenery, interesting bathrooms, local people and just thoroughly enjoyed our day. Helena is a nice and reliable tour guide. I feel confident recommending this company.

Excellent Service

“Excellent Service” 5 of 5 starsReviewed May 23, 2015 We are so glad we chose the Tea Culture Day tour. The beautiful Thousand Island Lake is just beyond description. The rain does not deter us from enjoy the breathtaking view in front of us. Also, our tour guide is enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He took us to the place that fewer tourists would go before the tour ended. To sum up, I cannot speak highly enough of MyTaiwanTour Service. You guys really made my stay in Taiwan worthwhile. I will definitely have a tour with MyTaiwanTour next time I visit Taipei City.

We want to go back and explore more of Taiwan!

My wife, 6-month old daughter and I extremely enjoyed our visit to Taiwan since we had a great adventure with our tour guide Jett Lai with My Taiwan Tours. We got to visit various places (tea plantation, ultimate Taipei, and Jiufen - mountain town and waterfalls tours) and had a great time. And our baby did not get sick since our tour guide was always accommodating to our needs and keeping the tour flexible so the baby does not get too fussy or tired. We want to go back and explore more of Taiwan!

It was a fabulous full day

Their Tea Culture Day Tour was the highlight of a 10 day trip to Taiwan. Recently, I was fortunate enough to accompany my husband on a business trip to Taiwan. Since there were several days where I was on my own, I decided to sign up for some tours. My Taiwan Tour Travel Service was by far heads above any of the other tour companies I tried. I decided on the tea culture tour, since I had already seen most of the major sights in Taipei with another company. It was fabulous! I was expecting a group tour and was very pleasantly surprised when it turned out that it was just me and a very pleasant young man named Steve Lin. He picked me up at my hotel, right on time, in a very comfortable car. He spoke excellent english and was so easy to be with. This was an all day tour with many highlights. The most memorable stop however, was having tea with a local tea grower. This was not listed as being on the tour, and was a wonderful treat. We also visited an old street lined with shops and food stalls and tasted our way from one end to the other! I never felt rushed and Steve was fine with me doing some shopping when I saw an interesting store. At the end of the day, when we reached my hotel, Steve handed me a gift of pineapple cake and some candies.I truly felt like I had spent the day with a good friend. I can't recommend this company highly enough. My only regret was that I didn't book all my tours with My Taiwan Tours.

A wonderful day with MTT

My husband and I had a wonderful time on our tea tour with Kelly and Justine! We were picked up right on time in front of our hotel on time, went to another hotel to pick up the other guest on the tour, and whisked away to Maokong. It was so nice to be on a tour with only 5 people total, I appreciate that they don't cram 30 people on a tour. We stopped at a tea museum to learn about the process of making tea, different types of tea and how to tell them apart, and also got to try some tea. We walked around the area and stopped at a tea house to try more tea, have some snacks, and just have great conversation. We then went to lunch at a spot that Kelly suggested at an absolutely amazing restaurant that featured tea in everything! It was one of the most memorable meals from our trip. After lunch, we took the Maokong Gondola to a few more tea farms and an absolutely stunning view of Thousand Island Lake. I got some great pictures there and already had the pictures printed and hung up in our house. We were then driven back to Taipei and dropped off at our hotel, even beating commute traffic. Our day was not as strict on time/getting to specific places at a certain time as I expected which I really liked. I really enjoyed learning about the tea making process but most of all, I enjoyed getting to talk to Kelly, Justine, and the other guest on our tour. Our small group really allowed for everyone to get to know each other, it was so nice. We loved being able to ask Kelly about growing up in Taiwan, her childhood, current events in Taiwan, the history of Taiwan, etc. She was so knowledgeable, smart, easy to talk to, and just a really lovely person. When we go back to Taiwan, I definitely want to do another tour with MyTaiwanTour. The tour is expensive but really worth how personal it is, the knowledge you'll gain and the wonderful people you'll meet.

The company is also very efficient and patient

I took a one day tour with MyTaiwanTour. Another couple was in the group and our guide Steve is way too awesome. He picked me up perfectly on time and welcomed me with full energy. I expected to have a simple sightseeing around the outskirts of Taipei (Somewhere has gondola and tea plantation), but Steve offered more than that. His knowledge of tea, culture, and history of Taiwan is incredible. He has great sense of humor and he was all the way very thoughtful to ensure me and the couple a comfortable tour. It was pouring in the afternoon but it didn't deter me from having wonderful time. I took a lot of photos (thanks to helpful Steve) and visited the beautiful plantation which I considered it a highlight of the tour. The company is also very efficient and patient to answer all my questions before I booked the tour. The tour ended up to be a great memory and I am pretty sure I'll contact MyTaiwanTour next time traveling to Taiwan.

Just wish I could stay longer

There were just two of us on the tea culture day and had an interesting time with a local tea farmer sampling locally grown teas. We ate dlicious street food in picturesque sanxia and saw wonderful views of lake and tea plantations. There was a little extra time so we visited a family run lactose factory which was just their home it was really fun. This was a great tour and the guide Steve was excellent, a good driver and spoke almost perfect English.. There was absolutely no pressure to buy anything and it was a lovely relaxing day. I just wish I could stay longer and take in some more tours.

An awesome tour with Kelly

Had a fantastic time on the Tea Culture tour last week. Kelly is a super-enthusiastic tour guide, and she gave us great insight into the production, selection and consumption of tea. The tour was well paced, and Kelly also gave us a great background on life in Taipei and Taiwanese culture. Thanks, Kelly, for an awesome tour!

I like many others have booked the day tour based on the reviews here. Am glad i did because i have a good time with tour guide, Steve. It feels like a trip with friends. Excellent tour.

Excellent tour. Our tour guide Paul was fabulous. He was passionate and knowledgeable. There were 7 people on the tour and he gave each one of us individual attention and answered all our questions...he also provided us insight into the election that was being held and the rallys that candidates were holding all over the city. Highly recommend this tour.
