ITINERARY
Day 1 / Taipei to Taichung
Depart Taipei and head to Flying Cow Ranch in Miaoli countryside for hands-on farm experiences. Enjoy interactive activities with friendly cows, learn about dairy farming, and try DIY ice cream making. Continue to Taichung, check into your hotel, then spend the evening exploring Fengjia Night Market with its endless food stalls and vibrant atmosphere.
Day 2 / Taichung - Sun Moon Lake - Qingjing Farm
After breakfast, travel to Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan's most iconic alpine lake. Take a scenic boat cruise across the crystal-blue waters and explore lakeside attractions. Continue to Qingjing Farm (1,750m elevation) and visit the charming Small Swiss Garden. Check into a cozy mountain guesthouse for stargazing under clear skies.
Day 3 / Qingjing Farm to Yuanli, Miaoli
Start your morning at Qingjing Farm's Green Green Grasslands, where you can interact with freely roaming sheep and enjoy mountain views. Descend to Taichung to visit Rainbow Village, a colorful art-covered village with whimsical murals perfect for photos. Continue to Yuanli in Miaoli County and check into Shine Mood Resort Hotel.
Day 4 / Miaoli to Jiaoxi, Yilan
Experience the unique Shengxing Old Mountain Line Rail Bike, pedaling along historic railway tracks through tunnels and scenic bridges. After this nostalgic adventure, travel northeast to Yilan's Jiaoxi hot spring town. Check into the luxurious Sheraton Jiaoxi Resort and enjoy therapeutic hot spring bathing.
Day 5 / Yilan - Taipei
Enjoy a relaxing morning at the resort before visiting the National Center for Traditional Arts. Explore this living museum with traditional architecture, craft demonstrations, and cultural exhibits. After lunch (own expense), begin the scenic drive back to Taipei, arriving at your accommodation by evening.

These were wonderful vacations with great memories
This was a highly individualized one week tour of the east coast, the north and a bit of Taipei. The email based compilation (by Anke) was handled very well, especially since we could not always reply in time. Our guide (Kelly) was very good in sensing where we were coming from and accommodated our ideas of vacation and took care of special needs in a fantastic manner (e.g. need of gluten free food). She came up with great mix of high class and nice local restaurants. Her pick of places (night market, lantern park) and her handling of the kids was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and helped us understand history and culture of Taiwan (very consistent of what I heard and observed from Taiwanese colleagues I interact with once in a while). She knew that we did not only want to see nice sights but also made sure we could bike and hike enough in nice fresh air. She was very good in intercultural skills and had a great sense of humor. She was a great ambassador of Taiwan with a bit of craziness that charmed us all. The driver (Sam) was very reliable and made us feel to be in good hands.
