HIGHLIGHTS
  • • Explore magnificent Taroko Gorge
  • • Hike two amazing and varied-terrain trails with an experienced guide
  • • Visit the seaside night market and savor the local eats in Hualien City in a chill vibe
  • • Get wet and experience river tracing

For most visitors, merely seeing the magnificence of Taroko Gorge from one of the many vantage points along the road is enough. This tour is for those looking to go deeper. We'll begin with a trip down the coast, pausing for a rest beneath the dramatic cliffs for which the area is justly known before heading into Taroko Gorge for the first of two hikes. The Shakadang Trail is a relatively level 3 km round-trip hike that follows the river and offers impressive views at every turn. The Zhuilu Historic Trail (originally built by the Japanese military) is significantly more challenging, being both twice as long and requiring some serious climbing; at points, you'll find yourself looking down into the gorge far below. You'll also visit the famous night market in Hualien with a chill vibe and savor the local eats. After two days of hiking, you will further explore the Hualien natural beauty through a river tracing adventure.

Taroko Gorge 3 Day Trip
My friends and I had a great time visiting Taroko Gorge on the MyTaiwanTour 3 day trip! The highlight of the trip was the Zhuilu Historic Trail. There were 5 of us in our group and wanted to visit Taroko Gorge while we were on vacation in Taiwan. Using MyTaiwanTour was very easy for us. They arranged our passes, picked us up, had a great hotel in a popular area in Hualien, and most importantly we had an excellent Tour Guide Claire who taught us a lot about Taiwan. She integrated well into our group of friends. I would recommend this tour to others who want a fun adventure trip without the hassle of planning. At Kavalan Distillery - this is probably the best place to get their whiskey, as it's hard to find elsewhere. The only parts that could use improvement were (1) communication about Shrimp Fishing and (2) the beach to watch surfers: We had no idea what was involved in shrimp fishing other than you may get wet. Your pants will get wet and bring a pair of water shoes as you will literally be wading in the river searching for shrimp at night. My friends and I had a little competition of who could catch the most, it's not as easy as you think! Also heading to the beach to see surfers could be removed from the itinerary, as all the other activities on the trip were more active sightseeing adventure, and this one is out of the way and not as exciting.

Spectacular!!!!!!
Spectacular!!!!!! Jhuilu old trail is a magnificent place. We walk along the precipice and the road is only 90cm width. Dangerous but a great challenge. You wouldn't know what you will see after going to next corners. And the beautiful view just wait for you when you just go ahead. Do not need to care about anything. Just relax yourself and enjoy your risk there. We had a lot of fun. Will definitely come back again.
